Paddy is a successful Managing Director and entrepreneur, having co-founded what is currently the UK's fastest growing and largest independent babyfood company. Previous to this he held senior management roles in Energis and Orange Business Services leading the development of a number of their most successful business partnerships, alliances and JV's.

Julian's career has spanned the IT, telco and finance industries, and he has managed the technical & strategic growth of a number of startups through to the stages of merger and acquisition. He has also developed products and services to deliver solutions across key business and consumer sectors, and frequently chairs and publishes papers in conferences across the US, Europe and the far East.

Tom's career has included work in the commercial music, creative media and government sectors advising organisations on the impact new media and technology will have on current business processes. Having held senior positions within the Virgin Group and consulted widely in the European and US media industries, he has substantial experience in delivering value from industries undergoing technological change.

He has been a private investor for many years, both personally and on behalf of others. He started his career as an investment manager at Johnson Fry with responsibility for appraising and completing early stage investments. Spencer spent five years at Price Waterhouse in the business advisory group working with a focus on SME and consumer product clients.

In 1996 he joined CMI, an early stage IT market research and online database business as a founder director. The Company spent 2 years developing an innovative online information service aimed at managers in large corporations. Spencer led a management buy out of this loss making Company and successfully turned it into a profitable business. Between 1998 and 2000 Spencer launched an online careers advisory and niche recruitment business and consulted to a number of internet start-ups and investors about their businesses.

From 2000 to 2003 Spencer worked as a director of iMPOWER Group plc, latterly as CEO. Throughout that time he had responsibility for a small venture fund, where he completed a number of investments. Spencer is a currently a non-executive director of Deliverance, UKprocure, iMPOWER Group plc and has sat on the board of a number of other Companies.

Spencer received a B.A. in History from Bristol University and he is a Chartered Accountant.

Bryan joined Active in September 2004. He graduated from Harvard Business School in 2004 with an MBA and he also holds a BA in Economics from Stanford University.

Prior to Harvard, Bryan was a Vice President of investment banking at Wit Capital and a founding member of the firm's West Coast office. Whilst at Wit, Bryan was directly involved with the firm's IPO in June 1999 and the acquisitions of SoundView and E*OFFERING. Bryan led deal teams for a number of Internet and technology IPOs and also helped build the firm's M&A and Financial Sponsors Groups.

Bryan began his investment banking career at Salomon Smith Barney where he worked in the firm's Consumer Group, focusing on emerging growth businesses.
